Plight of the stuck-at-home students
Article Abstract:
There has been a gradual rise in the number of British students attending universities in their home areas since the mid-1980s, and 13.4% of students lived at home in 1993. Some students find it more convenient to study at home, while others are forced to because of financial problems. Many find it too expensive to live in a hall of residence or private rented accommodation, especially in London.

Now get on with the job
Article Abstract:
Job vacancies for graduate students are expected to rise by 17.5% in 1995, following several years of poor employment prospects for graduates. However, graduates are now having to be prepared to lower their expectations, often taking jobs that would traditionally have been filled by a school-leaver. Some are even offering to work for nothing in order to gain work experience.
