You can't separate Blur from Schubert
Article Abstract:
The traditional divide between high and low culture has almost disappeared in the UK over recent years. Classic novels are being converted into films, for example, and new approaches to opera are very similar to those used with pop music. Some traditionalists find it hard to accept that some art forms are no longer seen as superior, and are calling for the distinction between high and low culture to be revived. However, the democratisation of culture has now become too engrained within society for this to happen.

Blameless divorce helps marriages
Article Abstract:
Moves by Lord Mackay to reform the UK's law on divorce are likely to continue to attract great controversy. This is particularly the case with plans to move towards 'no-fault' divorce. Opponents feel that this will in effect remove responsibility for the collapse of a relationship. In fact, this approach, along with the introduction of a cooling off period before a divorce can go ahead, will play a key role in protecting the interests of children.
