Article Abstract:
Only around 40% of 18-24-year-olds are intending to vote in the UK's forthcoming general election, according to a Mori/NOP poll. Many young people have a cynical view of politics, regarding politicians as dishonest and complacent. They often feel that they do not belong to a community and that no attention is paid to their views. The Labour party has responded by attempting to highlight issues which are likely to attract young people, while the Conservative party states that political apathy among young people is not a serious problem.

Article Abstract:
The annual Eurovision Song Contest has for many years been regarded as something of a joke. However, it has now become fashionable in a strange sort of way, and some people enjoy holding Eurovision Song Contest parties. The 1998 Eurovision Song Contest, to be held at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, England, will feature entries from 25 countries.
