A bounding cyclic theory for cyclic thermoplasticity
Article Abstract:
A nonlinear kinematic theory for the development of a thermoplasticity model is discussed. The theory uses the incompressible thermoplastic flow rule and a positive definite hardening modulus based on the model's temperature rate terms. To validate its reliability, the theory is used in an experimental study involving an OFHC copper subjected to thermomechanical cyclic loading. Results indicate that temperature rate terms are essential for the accurate modeling of thermomechanical cyclic loading at high temperatures.

A coupled finite element model of thermo-elastic-plastic large deformation for orthogonal cutting
Article Abstract:
The orthogonal cutting process is analyzed using a coupled model of thermo-elastic plastic material under large deformation. The cutting tool is advanced in the material until steady state chip formation occurs, these results are analyzed with the finite element and finite difference method. Results show higher stress around the primary and secondary deformation zones, the highest temperature is found near the chip-tool interface and temperature depends on the severity of deformation.

Finite element evaluation of the remaining mechanical strength of deteriorated cast iron pipes
Article Abstract:
A three-dimensional finite element strength evaluation method is used to predict the remaining mechanical strength of corrosion-deteriorated cast iron water pipes. This method is subjected to specific loading conditions and can be used by the engineers to identify those pipe sections, which requires attention.
