A consistent criterion for diffuse necking in sheet metals using Hill's 1979 yield surface
Article Abstract:
The innovative closed-form diffuse necking criterion can be utilized in analyzing the deformation in sheet metals which are used in various automotive applications. The development of such criterion was influenced by the appearance of new anomalous metal sheet materials whose plastic deformation cannot be determined by other necking criteria. This innovative necking criterion can also be utilized in various sheet materials.

On serrated plastics flow in an AA5052-H32 sheet
Article Abstract:
Temporal and spatial characteristics of serrated plastic flow or the Portevin-Le Chatelier (PLC) deformation bands in a commercial Al-2.5% Mg sheet metal due to dynamic strain aging effects are investigated under quasi-static uniaxial tension. The detailed strain distribution across the deformation bands showed a bell-like instead of steplike shape.
