A precarious perch
Article Abstract:
Ammocrypta pellucida, a small perch, was designated a threatened species in 1994 by the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada. The fish is threatened by pollution, damming and urban development. It lives on sandy bottoms in shallow water.

A short-horned lizard suit of armor
Article Abstract:
A simple project for children is the short-horned lizard suit of armor, which can be fabricated using cardboards, crayons and strings. Children can have fun and be made more aware of importance of these lizards to the environment with this easy project.

Canada's pygmy short-horned lizard and the eastern short-horned lizard have been included in the endangered species list due to habitat destruction. These lizards prefer the transition zone between grasslands and badlands.
