Free surface modeling of a glass tube sealing process
Article Abstract:
A free surface model of the glass tube sealing process is developed using a computer-aided engineering (CAE) technique. This method utilized the Galerkin finite element formulation that was based on the Lagrangian technique. The model called for the use of a gas torch to seal the end of a partially evacuated glass tube. Results show the effectiveness of CAE in improving the quality of production processes.

Stress and glucocorticoid
Article Abstract:
Researchers disagree on the evidence for the claim that stress-related glucocorticoid (GC) excess is associated with hippocampal atrophy. The dispute centers on differing levels of GC excess observed in post traumatic stress disorder, Cushing's disease, and depression.
