A walk in the woods: satellites show the way in the new sport of geocaching
Article Abstract:
The Global Positioning System (GPS) consists of 24 satellites and five ground stations with the satellites transmitting low-power radio signals on frequencies in the UHF band. The handheld GPS unit triangulates its position anywhere on the planet with the new ones being introduced with built-in maps and screens that work much like a web page.
