An innovative model of multi-project wafer service in the foundry industry
Article Abstract:
An innovative business model, based on the current Multi-Project Wafer (MPW) model of the shared mask, is used to assist the semiconductor industry in resolving the dilemma of whether to select an exclusive full mask or an MPW mask for small-volume production, using 0.13 um and 90 nm technologies. The proposed model yields the optimal combination of small-volume production for a fabless company and an Integrated Device Manufacturing (IDM) according to the chip size and quantity of dies purchased.

Pathways to innovation in Asia's leading electronics- exporting countries- a framework for exploring drivers and policy implications
Article Abstract:
A framework for exploring emerging pathways to innovation in Asian electronic industries, as well as their drivers and policy implication is offered with the focus mainly on 'stylized facts'. The role of Asia's leading players in the electronics industry is changing, from global export production bases for hardware and software to the creation of commercially viable innovations and standards.
