Article Abstract:
Environmental changes, the low reproductive rate and man's indiscriminate activities are taking its toll on the polar bear population. Unless measures are taken to conserve and protect these animals, the once kingly polar bears may forever find themselves in Canada's endangered species list.

Bleak prospects
Article Abstract:
Henslow's sparrows are found mostly in North America and they prefer breeding sites that are weedy meadowlands of tallgrass. The sparrow's preference of such a breeding site has contributed to its declining population, considering that most forests nowadays, are being cleared.

Far from home
Article Abstract:
Species of the white prairie gentian plant hitherto believed to be extinct has been found in Walpole Island in southern Ontario. The plant has reportedly been around for3,000 years. The Walpole species bears slightly opened flowers and can grow to as high as 90 centimeters.
