Automated environmental laboratory unveiled at Los Alamos
Article Abstract:
The Contamination Analysis Automation system is a portable demonstration laboratory system designed to increase the efficiency and reduce the costs of environmental analytical methods by 25%. It consists of interchangeable modules that can handle 60% of the samples that need to be analyzed from a typical cleanup site. The laboratory, which was developed by the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, will be tested at DOE cleanup sites in 1996.

Article Abstract:
The EPA has launched the country's first major study of human exposure to multiple environmental agents. The National Human Exposure Assessment Survey will field research teams in six Midwestern states, Arizona and the Baltimore, MD, area.
