Azaarenes in the aerosol of an urban atmosphere
Article Abstract:
Azaarenes, which are known mutagens and carcinogens, were detected in a number of environmental media in the Liverpool urban atmosphere. The high volume sampling techniques and cascade impactor sampling techniques employed yielded an overall mean azaarene concentration of 2.80 ng m-3. This reveals a very strong seasonal variation that indicates minimum concentration in the summer months and maximum concentration in winter.

Octanol-air partition coefficient for describing particle/gas partitioning of aromatic compounds in urban air
Article Abstract:
The KOA absorption model proved useful in describing particle/gas partitioning. The model, which was compared to the adsorption model or Junge-Pankow model, was able to identify the differences between ortho-chlorine substituted groups of polychlorinated biphenyls. The KOA absorption model also proved capable of describing the partitioning of polychlorinated naphthalenes.
