Biosynthesis and metabolism of brassinosteroids
Article Abstract:
The biosynthesis of sterols, which were recognized as precursors of brassinosteroids (BRs) and membrane constituents, and as modulators of plant development, is discussed. In addition, various metabolic reactions of BRs including epitemerization, oxidation, and conjugation are summarized.

Biosynthesis and accumulation of sterols
Article Abstract:
Sterols are isoprenoid-derived molecules that have essential functions in eukaryotes in general, and in higher plants in particular. The advantages and disadvantages of molecular genetics techniques as applied to sterol metabolism are discussed.
