Botanical witness for the prosecution
Article Abstract:
DNA tests of the seed pods of Palo Verde trees have been used as evidence in a murder trial in Arizona. The seed pods were found in a suspect's truck and place the truck near the site of the murder. This marks the first time that non-human DNA evidence has been admitted in a criminal trial.

MS study yields mixed results
Article Abstract:
Neuroimmunologists Howard Weiner and David Hafler fed bovine myelin to 15 individuals in the early stages of MS as a test of 'antigen feeding' in human patients. Some of the patients showed indications of improvement, but none of the results were statistically significant.

What might cause parasites to become more virulent
Article Abstract:
Parasites that can easily find a new host tend to become more virulent, according to a theory resulting from the research of Allen Herre. Herre studied Panamanian nematodes that infested fig wasps. This could refute previous theories on the evolution of parasites.
