Brain representation of object-centered space in monkeys and humans
Article Abstract:
The presence and nature of neural maps of object-centered space provides evidence that comes from two sources of single-neuron recording in behaving monkeys and assessment of the visual abilities of human patients with hemispatial neglect. Two sets of observations are provided that are complementary in the sense that the loss of neurons in the monkey could explain the spatial distribution of neglect in the patients.

The human visual cortex
Article Abstract:
The findings and methods employed to uncover the functional properties of the human visual cortex focusing on two themes: functional specialization and hierarchical processing are reviewed. The functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) has increased the knowledge of the functional organization of the human visual cortex and its relation to visual perception.

Visual motor computations in insects
Article Abstract:
A few examples of visuomotor control in insects are outlined. Insects have evolved sophisticated visuomotor mechanisms for pursuing prey or mates and for concealing their own motor while shadowing objects of interest.
