Cincinnati agrees to sewer overflow settlement
Article Abstract:
Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati (MSD) is planning to spend more than $1 billion to reduce the occurrence of combined sewer overflows (CSOS) and sanitary sewer overflows (SSOS) in its collection system. As per the agreement made between U.S. Department of Justice, the Environmental Protection Agency, Ohio State, the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation and the MSD, the MSD is to remove many active SSOS, develop a computer model of the sewer system, expand the sewer system and build a temporary treatment facility.

Indianapolis unveils $1.8-billion plan to reduce overflows
Article Abstract:
Plans of the City of Indianapolis to reduce sewage overflows during wet weather events by building untreated wastewater storage tunnel are presented. Implementation of the plan would cost about 1.8 billion dollars.
