Crystal plasticity based Fe model for understanding microstructural effects on creep and dwell fatigue inTi-6242
Article Abstract:
Key microstructural parameters are developed, which play important roles in the failure initiation of polycrystalline Ti-6242 subjected to creep and dwell loading and to effectively model these phenomena, a time-dependent large strain finite element (FE) model is developed. Critical variables are identified from a comparative study of the results of creep and dwell simulations and microstructural parameters such as orientation and misorientation distributions are deciphered from the results of simulations and assessment of morphological distributions.

On the reference length and mode mixity for a bimaterial interface
Article Abstract:
An experimental method is used to study the mode mixity and associated reference length that is fixed for a given bimaterial system. The method is useful for estimating the characteristic reference length.
