Designs for industry
Article Abstract:
Van Den Bergh Foods had to develop new manufacturing machinery to cope with the high-production speed and complex packaging process necessary in the production of its new pyramid-shaped PG Tips tea bags. London Assoc, specialists in industrial design, together with Van Den Bergh, came up with a viable design which featured a series of trolley-based guards. The trolley system features flexibility, allows for normal operator access and makes it possible for entire sections of guarding to be easily transferred. This system has improved maintenance and changeover times.

Soft landings: The fact that CADCAM systems can be bought as complete solutions does not diminish the need for rigorous selection procedures to ensure the right choice
Article Abstract:
Many engineering and manufacturing businesses use computer aided design, but often such systems fail to bring the potential benefits of improved productivity, better quality and quicker product development times. The CADCAM Forum of the Computer Suppliers Federation (CSF) have sponsored a guide to investing in CADCAM, highlighting several key justification considerations.

Quick work
Article Abstract:
Fabrication techniques are in vogue for manufacturing industries. A popular feature is the use of CAD models that can be stratified into several smaller units. The splitting of 3D equipment into cost reductive implements can help save money. The innovations require more investment from manufacturers and skilled workers to introduce the technology.
