Dispute over Exxon Valdez cleanup data gets messy

Scientists for Exxon Corp and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) disagree about data concerning the level of hydrocarbons in wildlife in Prince William Sound. Exxon scientists claim that the effects of the Exxon Valdez spill in 1989 have almost been eliminated, while NOAA scientists claim that Exxon is using faulty methodology.

Physicists from three laboratories are planning research to explore the 'island of stability' that theoretically surrounds the superheavy element 114. They hope to disprove that the stability of superheavy elements always decreases as they get bigger.
