Dominant dynamic complementarities and technology-motivated acquisitions of new, technology-based firms
Article Abstract:
There is an interrelationship between the patterns of acquisition of new, technology-based firms and systemic determinants on industry evolution studies in Finland and the conceptual analysis of this paper. Difference in size distribution of technology-based companies in different industries can be hypothesized by using and developing the concepts of dominants dynamic complementarities. It is possible to study the process of formation of industries from inside to outside of the companies. The size of the firms, the areas of expertise and the kind of industries affect the nature of collaboration between firms.

Building production competence and enhancing organizational capabilities through acquisition: the case of Mitsubishi Electric
Article Abstract:
An effective mechanism for maintaining growth in conditions of technological uncertainty is corporate acquisition. However, such a strategy usually suffers from high failure rates. Thus, a resource-based framework for analyzing corporate acquisitions in times of rapid technological change was developed. The framework shows how acquisitions enhance the acquirer's standing not only in the immediate period but also in the future through access to resources.
