Article Abstract:
The Wayne L. Morse United States Courthouse in Eugene, Oregon is the product of the General Services Administration's Design Excellence Program. The architects of the courthouses wanted to break down the scale of the building to differentiate it from other office buildings. It was also important for the building's design to be a cultural focal point because the courthouse historically formed the core of small-town America.
