Strain smoothening stabilization is initiated to remove spatial instability in collocation meshfree methods in the stabilized conforming nodal integration method. This serves as an efficient formulation for metal forming simulations, with the results exhibiting a significant betterment in computational efficiency without loss of accuracy.

Evaluation method for fatigue strength of FRP/metal adhesive joints considering mean stress
Article Abstract:
Stress analysis and fatigue tests on two types of adhesive joints (double lap and embedded) were performed at room temperature and LN(sub 2) temperature. The reduction in fatigue strength of the adhesive joints due to the thermal residual stress or mechanical mean stress is evaluated from the intensity of stress singularity.

Improving formability in sheet metal stamping with active drawbead technology

Active drawback technology has been applied to sheet metal stamping for improving formability. Delayed brief drawbead penetrations provide better springback control, as they tend to produce higher strains across the punch face.
