Environmental restoration: conservation groups to remove dams on Penobscot River
Article Abstract:
A number of conservation groups like a Native American tribe, government agencies and a major producer of hydroelectricity have signed an agreement, which aims at removing two dams from the Penobscot River. The parties to the agreement aim to revamp the waterway and restore populations of fish and other forms of wildlife that is in decline for some time.
