Evolutionary biology has provided valuable insights on the underlying causes of human disease and has offered a number of alternative ways of remedying them. According to this premise, discomforting conditions, such as pain and anxiety, are actually a part of the body's naturally evolving defenses.

DNA microsatellites: agents of evolution?
Article Abstract:
DNA satellites are regions in the DNA which scientists previously thought were useless or 'junk.' Researchers have discovered that these microsatellites can perform many functions which are remarkable. These functions could enable organisms to adapt to their environments.
