Fast moves: instant earthquake analysis may beat the waves

Trends in real-time seismic analysis are allowing scientists to predict some aftershocks of earthquakes a few seconds in advance. The Caltech-US Geological Survey Broadcast of Earthquakes (CUBE) project is an automated paging system for transmitting data about earthquakes.
