For the birds: Hawking interesting avians in the urban environment
Article Abstract:
The conference held by the American Museum of Natural History in April 2006 about Conserving Birds in Human-Dominated Landscapes is discussed. The conference discussed some birds' abilities to prosper among humans such as wood pigeons, which have taken up residence in towns and cities, where they hang out near bars due to the great opportunities such establishments afford for the distribution of food directly onto the sidewalk.
