Fewer foreign students are choosing to enroll in German universities because of problems such as poorly organized curricula and restrictive academic requirements. Some experts believe Germany should make its degree programs compatible with those of other nations and adopt English-language curricula.

German universities are suffering from problems such as overcrowding, aging facilities, hiring freezes and poor allocation of resources. Germany must provide more funding for its universities to stay competitive in the areas of science and technology.
