From bacterial glycogen to starch: understanding the biogenesis of the plant starch granule
Article Abstract:
A comparison of phenotypes generated by debranching enzyme-defective mutants in Escherichia colt and plants is given. It suggests that enzymes previously thought to be involved in polysaccharide degradation have been recruited during evolution to serve a particular purpose in starch biosynthesis.

Symbioses of grasses with seedborne fungal endophytes
Article Abstract:
Symbiosis is the typical state for large organisms, either plant or animal. Advances in endophyte molecular biology promise to shed light on the mechanisms of the symbioses and host benefits.
