Glaucoma gene provides light at the end of the tunnel
Article Abstract:
Edwin Stone, Val Sheffield et al have linked juvenile glaucoma to a gene on chromosome 1, which is also believed to be mutated in 3% of all glaucoma cases. The gene codes for the protein TIGR, made by eye pressure-controlling cells, which has been known for years to be involved in some glaucomas.
