Glycosyltransferases of lipophilic small molecules
Article Abstract:
The function of glycosyltransferases in underpinning developmental and metabolic plasticity during adaptive responses is described. The transfer of a sugar onto a lipophilic acceptor changes its chemical properties, alters its bioactivity, and enables access to membrane transport systems, suggesting that in a cellular context, substrate availability is a determining factor in enzyme function ad redundancy depends upon the extent of coordinate gene regulation.

Molecular physiology of legume seed development
Article Abstract:
Legume seed development is characterized by progressive differentiation of organs and tissues resulting in development gradients. Transgenic legumes with changed metabolic pathway and seed composition provide suitable models to study pathway regulation and metabolic control.

Responding to color: The regulation of complementary chromatic adaptation
Article Abstract:
The developments in understanding complementary chromatic adaptation (CCA) regulation and its influences on phycobilisones biogenesis and other cellular processes are discussed. Results show that the regulation of CCA is complex and involves three pathways at least.
