Halogen bonding based recognition processes: A world parallel to hydrogen bonding
Article Abstract:
Some heuristic principles are presented to develop a rational crystal engineering based on halogen bondings. The focus is on halogen-bonded supramolecular architectures given by halocarbons and the potential of the interaction is shown by useful applications in the field of synthetic chemistry, material sciences, and bioorganic chemistry.

Free energy surfaces from single-molecule force spectroscopy
Article Abstract:
A description on how to obtain the free energy along the pulling coordinate and discussion on how to remove contributions due to molecular linkers and the pulling apparatus is presented. An illustration on rigorous free energy reconstruction procedure is presented by applying it to force-induced RNA unfolding experiments.
