Helping hearing

The Vibrant Soundbridge is a hearing device that attaches to a bone in the inner ear instead of to either the eardrum or canal as do other aids. Developed by Geoffrey Ball, a hearing impaired scientist, the device has been designed to prevent distortion of sound and be comfortably worn.

House of plastic

Neste Oy has built a house made primarily of plastic in Finland. The house is meant to promote plastic as a viable building material. Located in one of the coldest area of the world, the house also has a solar power system that produces more energy than is needed to run the house.
