High and dry: new wetlands policy is a political quagmire
Article Abstract:
The Bush Administration's proposed guidelines for identifying wetlands in need of protection are controversial. Scientists have found that many wetland areas will lose their protected status under the guidelines. This is serious because wetlands are vital to a sound environment.

Obstacle course: funding and policy stifle contraceptive research
Article Abstract:
The US provides fewer contraceptive options than many other nations, largely due to lack of governmental support and funding. Pres Bill Clinton, who already has lifted the ban on RU 486, needs to provide more funding for research.
