Natural selection at work on the surface of virus-infected cells
Article Abstract:
Recognition of major histocompatibility complex class 1 (MHC-1) molecules in a cell by cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) is important in the immune response to viral infection. A natural selection process is at work in the ratios of T cells created that do or do not kill target cells.

TH2 downregulation of macrophage HIV-1 replication
Article Abstract:
Research indicates a dichotomy in the results that TH2-type cytokines produce in macrophages affected by HIV. Variables that affect preferential replication of HIV-1 are discussed.
