Hughes tosses lifeline to 90 Eastern European scientists

The Hughes Institute awarded 90 grants of $25,000 to $35,000 per year to scientists conducting biomedical research in Russia and Eastern Europe. The grants will sustain world-class laboratories without forcing researchers to emigrate. Countries and areas of research receiving grants are listed.
