Immersed in sound: Noise pollution latest challenge for St. Lawrence Belugas
Article Abstract:
Information about the challenge faced due to sound pollution by the belugas living in Saguenay-St Lawrence rivers near Tadoussac, Quebec, is presented. The impact of the increasing noise pollution on the belugas ability to communicate, navigate and find food using echo-location is studied and the ways to protect the habitat and increase population of these endangered species are discussed.

Deep sea diversion: doing the right thing for right whales
Article Abstract:
The Bay of Fundy is one of the five known habitat areas for the north Atlantic right whales. Incidentally, this spot is one of the busiest shipping lanes, but now ships using the port of Saint John N.B and other ports have moved a few kilometers to the east, to avoid the summer feeding areas of this endangered species.
