Indiana to restore grand Calumet River
Article Abstract:
The agreement involving the federal government, the state of Indiana, and eight companies provides an impetus for efforts to restore portions of the Grand Calumet River in northwestern Indiana degraded waterway. Federal and state agencies acting as 'trustees' on behalf of the public had made claims against companies whose operations were alleged to have adversely affected the environment in and around the river.
