PAHs in dated sediments of Ashtabula River, Ohio, USA
Article Abstract:
This study determines the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the Ashtabula River in Ohio by use of a chemical mass balance model. Incomplete combustion of organic matter is the main producer of PAHs, and emissions from automobile exhausts, refuse burning, wood and coal burning, heat and power generation and coke ovens are all major sources of this organic matter.

PCB congeners in Lake Michigan Coho (Oncorhynchus kisutch) and Chinook (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) Salmon
Article Abstract:
Though polychlorinated biphenyls have been studied and greatly reduced in the Great Lakes, less is known regarding polychlorinated biphenyl congeners. Measuring polychlorinated biphenyl congener concentrations in Lake Michigan Chinook and Coho Salmon, researchers found a relationship between fish size and congener concentration, among other findings. Tables, graphs, and figures further illustrate findings.
