Article Abstract:
An integrated assessment of the causes, processes and consequences of global climactic changes is needed immediately to inform policy decisions that must be made before significant global climactic changes occur. Efforts to integrate climactic change research findings are reviewed.

Are we seeing global warming?
Article Abstract:
Researchers have yet to conclusively prove that a .5-degree Celsius increase in global mean surface temperature since the last century is due to human-induced global warming or to natural climate variability. Challenges scientists face in making this determination are examined.

Warm climate surprises
Article Abstract:
Climactic changes that occurred during the current Holocene interglacial period were often abrupt and significant. If many of the changes that occurred during the last 10,000 years occurred today, they would have a major impact on humans.
