Landing on the genome
Article Abstract:
The 1996 completion of the sequencing of yeast and near completion of the structural mapping phase of the human genome project are turning points in the genome project. Sequence-ready maps for most of the human chromosomes are still needed, and accessibility to information needs improvement.

Genetic networks
Article Abstract:
Molecular genetic techniques are speeding the rate of discovery of genes and the primary gene sequences which form the nodes of the genetic network. Genetic research is also uncovering the regulatory and physical relationships among each gene's DNA, proteins and sequences.

Functional genomics: it's all how you read it
Article Abstract:
Functional genomics is a new approach to genomics that uses structural genomics data to assess gene function. It expands the scope of genetic research from the study of a single gene to the systematic assessment of all genes at once.
