Leonardo's lost robot

Mark Rosheim, of Minneapolis-based Ross-Hime Designs, Inc has designed an "anthrobot", referred to as Robotic Surrogate. The machine, inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's drawings, has human-like flexibility. It is expected to contribute largely to NASA's international space station.

Honey, I shrunk the mice!
Article Abstract:
A hormone called leptin has been found to be capable of reducing the weight of obese mice by 30%. Experiments indicate that leptin regulates weight by controlling the amount of fat stored in the body. Human trials with the hormone are set to begin in 1996.
