Lessons from the EPSCoR states

EPSCor's success in raising awareness about the importance of basic research holds many lessons for other organizations wishing to build public support for science. EPSCor is well organized. It justifies its research to the public and keeps the public informed and involved.

NIST: measuring up to a new task

The Clinton administration has proposed that NIST should provide funds for civilian research and development through the Advanced Technology Program (ATP). The proposal calls for ATP to dispense more than $750 each year by FY 1997.
