Looking better: Advanced light microscopy for the research masses
Article Abstract:
Collaboration between the University of California, San Francisco (U.C.S.F.) and the California Institute for Quantitative Biomedical Research (QB3) with Nikon Instruments will help in both biological discovery and continued development of microscopy technologies. The six state-of-the-art optical microscopes at QB3 have achieved their high performance due to advancements in different disciplines.

Eye of the beholder
Article Abstract:
The study presents images from the entries to Nikon's annual Small World Competition, and epitomizes the art of looking closer, as captured by some modern masters of photomicrography. Each one offers a slice of life as the eye does not ordinarily have the opportunity to know it.
