Los Angeles agrees to restore flows to Owens river
Article Abstract:
The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) and Inyo County, California, have entered into an agreement to restore the flow in the Owens River by 60 mi (97 km). It is expected that this project will be benefiting the Black rock Waterfowl Habitat Area alongside the delta area by supporting and recreating wildlife.

This article describes an unique way for rerouting the storm water into rainwater recovery systems that collect from rooftops before it is transferred to dry wells, where it enters the soil and recharges groundwater supplies.
