Making a comeback in the big rigs: antilock brakes
Article Abstract:
Antilock brakes, as of 1993, are installed in only about 8% of the medium to heavy trucks on the road, despite the obvious need for such brakes to aid in safe stopping and the prevention of jackknifing. By contrast, 30% of the cars and 80% of the vans and light trucks have antilock brakes.

Birth by bytes could improve safety
Article Abstract:
A computer software program, developed by Arthur Wischnik of Mannheim, Germany, assists physicians by simulating childbirth. The computer displays on a monitor the entire birth process, with indications as to the level of stress in the child's head and surrounding tissue.
