Measurements of the hydroxyl radical in a manipulated but realistic indoor environment
Article Abstract:
Hydroxyl radical (OH) in manipulated but realistic indoor environments can be measured utilizing an indirect technique wherein a compound that reacts strongly with OH, 1,3,5-trimethylbelzene, is used as an indicator and released into the indoor setting at a given rate. The manipulation of conditions in the indoor setting was necessary to accurately measure indoor OH concentration. Results indicate that significant levels of OH concentration at different indoor conditions can be obtained from reactions among ozone and olefins.

States, EPA discuss compromise plan to halt lawsuit over NOx plan
Article Abstract:
The national control of ozone, which is also known as ground-level smog, may be in jeopardy because of a court case that temporarily halts the EPA's nitrogen oxides (NOx) state implementation plan (SIP). Officials from Michigan and West Virginia filed the suit because they believe the SIP calls are unfair to the facilities in their states.
