The measurement and management of risk in R&D and innovation
Article Abstract:
A study has been conducted to provide empirical evidence on the extent and nature of non-diversifiable risks associated with research and development and innovation and to demonstrate that standard discounted cash flow decision rules may be inappropriate and misleading in areas of high risk such as research and development. Results of the study reveal a skewed distribution, with a small proportion of inventions earning high returns and the vast majority earning earning little.

Collaborative research: the Australian experience
Article Abstract:
Public sector research has dominated most of Australia's R & D performance. The Australian Commonwealth Government has been promoting the commercialization of public sector research, which concentrates its efforts more on the early stages of research rather than on the later stages. This has been the rationale behind the establishment of Co-operatives Research Centers Program. This prevents spillovers to other unconcerned agencies.
