NASA has unveiled a new satellite named the Earth Observing System for monitoring the characteristics of Earth. The ongoing environmental changes occurring is under surveillance with this system. The equipment used in monitoring Earth's climate are noted along with each's function.

Methane, plants and climate change

Researchers have found that living plants also manufacture their own potent greenhouse gas that might cause global climate change. They have clarified that plants do not contribute to the increase in methane, which plays a major role in trapping heat, and global warming.
