Tail in the air
Article Abstract:
Icing is one of the most persistent threats to flying and can, in some circumstances, bring down an aircraft. Preventative practices in use currently rely on heating all critical surfaces, including engine inlets. However, equipment such as pneumatic de-icer boots are expensive to maintain. More powerful de-icing systems are being developed, using sophisticated ice accretion simulation software that simulates ice build-up and carries out aerodynamic analysis.

Article Abstract:
An innovative design of actuators can be utilized in the improvement of such a device suitable for various applications. The model implements a spherical permanent magnet configurations which are based in three-axis gimbal systems. The actuators configurations may contribute to the enhancement of the actuation systems to promote precise and efficient applications. Precise actuation systems can be used in the design of a more versatile robots.
