Small Asteroids Point to a Source for Meteorites
Article Abstract:
Astronomers at the Asteroids, Comets, and Meteors meeting in Ithaca, NY, revealed evidence that S-type asteroids are chondrite, contrary to the appearance that some of them present. The reddish cast of some of the asteroids, especially the larger ones, are thought to be be a type of weathering process that conceals the gray of ordinary chondrite.

For Radioactive Waste From Weapons, a Home at Last
Article Abstract:
The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant is the lone success in the search to find a US site for a repository for radioactive waste. Supporters of the project belive they will get a favorable ruling in tow lawsuits filed to stop it. Wastes from nuclear weapons production and nuclear power plants could start arriving as early as Mar 1999.
